The composition of this work for saxophone quartet involves the collection of all my creative impulse, as well as different compositional techniques that I have developed over the years, which I recognize as strongly representative of my catalog. Techniques and formal resources that are presented as recognizable and my own; and that, I believe, I have contributed in an original way for their use, development and expansion in future generations. Anyone who has slightly immersed themselves in my compositional trajectory will quickly realize this.

The melody, undoubtedly, or rather, that new way of approaching melody, which I have been working on for many years, floods the whole work, forging the whole formal path through the linear relationships of the four instruments. And the heights, registers, rhythms and textures rooted in the tradition of the instrument, articulated from an original and novel point of view are an inseparable part from the very birth of the idea of the piece. What does the use of one register or another or its combination with another instrument imply in terms of timbre? What density does this use provoke? How to approach articulation as a formal resource? These are some of the questions that every work raises in my mind.

The title refers precisely to these resources and the way they are used; those sonorities so typically Depablian. So that, whoever uses them, will end up collecting an artistic legacy, a name, to which he will always be linked (LdP).

As an impulse for this piece, I have been fortunate to have the support of my friends from Sigma Project: Andrés Gomis, Josetxo Silguero, Ángel Soria and Alberto Chaves, who put themselves at my disposal with an unstoppable energy, so typical of them. In addition, I have had the composer Israel López Estelche as support in some tasks of the piece itself.
